“I feel sad”: Students’ voices on lecturer’s feedback on Google Docs

Students' responses to teacher's feedback can affect their emotions and attitude toward tasks they are working with. Amidst the growing use of digital tools in facilitating English writing classes, this current article explores students' given on Google Docs. This descriptive qualitative study gathered data through a questionnaire from twenty-three university students majoring Education Department semi-structured interviews with three students. The consisted closed open-ended questions elicit information about feedback. Meanwhile, were conducted for further investigation as well provide source triangulation. analyzed thematically by identifying themes groups which correspond research questions. findings revealed that experienced two kinds emotions, either positive emotion (curious happy) or negative (sad confused). Their influenced expectation, lower proficiency levels, learning commitment while self-efficacy process, higher level, motivation. These contributed class. tend commit task dan do revision, but didn't encourage them reflect revision. Moreover, Docs was typically used asynchronous couldn't directly confirm clarify understanding. Several implications suggestions also discussed.
